My Sister

In mid-1980s Istanbul during a sweltering summer, 10-year-old Elif roams the dusty neighborhood construction lots while her 13-year-old sister Ayşe is bedridden after injuring herself in front of a mirror. When their mother takes them to the beach, Ayşe isolates herself with headphones. As Ayşe disappears under the waves, Elif is thrust into a sudden wave of panic, longing, and unresolved guilt.
