Early 1900's. In a noble house, the mistress has just given birth, but the baby was a stillborn child. In the same house, an 18-year-old servant has a child to nurse. The first one wants to be a mother at all costs, the latter wishes a different future. Their encounter will lead them to confront themselves with their deepest desires and to make a choice that will change their lives in a radical way.
